Plasma surface ionization wave interactions with single channels

Abstract The study of plasma surface ionization waves (SIWs) in recent years has primarily focused on planar surfaces and periodic two dimensional structures. In application, substrates are likely to have non-planar morphology such as cracks, pores, steps. Additionally, targets for the applications medicine or catalysis may with heterogeneous composition. This classification brought under umbrella complex interfaces. this work, SIWs were incident a target consisting single channel cut into glass slides. SIW velocities in-channel portion wave radially propagating tracked. It was found that not significantly affected by geometry, but increase pulse energy. A third propagation direction is characterized azimuthal relative radial wave. Channel geometry greatly effect area treated velocity Surface impact application also discussed. simple model introduced understand mechanisms behind escape from channel. ratio energy dependent minimum can predict angle channels.
